About the District

Cooper ISD is a rural school district providing a success-filled learning environment for the young people of the area.  The district includes three campuses: pre-kindergarten/headstart through fifth grade in elementary, 6th through 8th grade in junior high, and 9th through 12th grade in high school.  The district is fully accredited and has a rating of Academically Acceptable by the Texas Education Agency.

The community served by Cooper ISD is located in Delta County, approximately 90 miles northeast of Dallas on State Highway 24.  In addition to Cooper, the county seat, the towns of Ben Franklin, Enloe, Klondike, Lake Creek, and Pecan Gap are served through the school district.  The parents of many of our students commute to work in surrounding cities in order to keep their children in Cooper campuses.

FIRST (Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas) is the state’s effort to measure school financial performance. Cooper ISD  received the highest  possible rating of Superior Achievement in the most current rating.  Additionally, our S&P (Standard & Poor) Rating is maintained at an A+.

Academics are the number one priority at Cooper ISD.  We offer proven research-based techniques taught by an experienced and dedicated teaching staff.  In addition to core academics, Cooper offers numerous opportunities for student growth and involvement.  We offer more than thirty hours of college credit on-site including: College Algebra, English, Spanish, U.S. Government, Economics, Texas Government, U.S. History, Psychology and Health Sciences.  Additionally, our district pays for up to twelve hours of college credit for each student.  Our students often graduate from Cooper ISD with a full year of college and many of their basics already under their belt.

We are also the proud providers of several Career & Technology programs including ten career certifications that will give students a boost in their chosen career field.  We have specific coursework for students interested in a wide variety of occupations: robotics, computer programming, internet and computing, printing and imaging, accounting, banking, pharmacy technician, nursing and enhanced nurse aide, EMS, culinary arts, floral design and welding.

Our students continue to achieve excellence in a wide range of extra-curricular activities as well.  We have top notch programs with a rich tradition of excellence including: Academic UIL, Band, Baseball, Basketball, Cross-Country, Football, Golf, One Act Play, Powerlifting, Softball, Tennis, and Track.

Cooper ISD is thorough in meeting the needs of our most valuable asset, our students!  We welcome transfer students and we would love to show you what we have to offer.   Our little school has a big heart and many, many educational opportunities for students from prekindergarten to college.
